How do I resize a video from 16:9 to 9:16 for Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts?
Pick 9:16 and download. Unlike a plain centre crop, Auto Reframe keeps the speaker or the subject in frame as they move, and jumps cleanly at each scene cut, so the vertical version still looks edited.
How does auto reframe follow the subject?
It checks the video about ten times a second for faces — including small ones in wide shots — and for movement when there are no faces. Within each shot the crop glides after the subject like a camera operator, ignoring tiny movements so it never jitters.
Can I choose the position myself?
Yes. Drag the box on the small overview of the full frame to place the crop for that shot. Every scene can be set on its own, and Auto puts it back.
Which sizes can I make?
9:16 for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and Stories; 4:5 for the Instagram feed; and 1:1 square. Portrait videos can also be reframed to square.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The analysis, the cropping and the MP4 are all made in your browser, so your video never leaves your computer or phone.
Does it keep the sound?
Yes. The original audio is copied into the new MP4 in sync. If your browser can’t encode audio, the tool says so and exports the video without sound.
How long can the video be?
