Frequently asked questions

How do I change the color of an SVG online?

Add your SVG, then click any part of the artwork or any swatch in the color list and pick a new color — every shape using that color changes together. Download the SVG or a PNG when you're done.

Can I recolor an SVG to my brand colors?

Yes. Enter your brand hex codes under Recolor and the tool maps them onto the artwork from lightest to darkest, keeping its shading. Whites, blacks and greys stay as they are unless you switch that off.

Does it work with gradients and CSS classes?

Yes. Colors are read from how the SVG actually renders, so fill and stroke attributes, inline styles, style blocks, CSS classes, inherited colors and gradient stops are all found.

Can I recolor several SVG files at once?

Yes. Drop a whole icon set in at once. The color list covers every file, so one change recolors the full set, and you can download everything as a ZIP.

My SVG has hundreds of colors — can I simplify them?

Use “Group similar colors” at the top of the color list. Close shades are grouped into one swatch, and changing it shifts the whole group while keeping the subtle differences.

Does my file get uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

Can I use the recolored SVG commercially?

If you own the original SVG, the recolored version carries the same rights. SketchValley illustrations are free for commercial use.
