Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image?
Drop your image above (or several at once). It opens in the editor at its original size — type a new width or height, enter a percentage, or pick a preset like Instagram Post, then click Download. The aspect ratio stays locked unless you unlock it.
How do I resize an image to 100 KB (or any file size)?
Open Advanced options, tick Target file size and enter the size in KB. The editor shows the resulting file size before you download. It lowers the JPG or WebP quality first, and only if that isn’t enough does it shrink the dimensions — so you always get the sharpest image that fits.
How do I resize without losing quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp — the resizer shrinks in steps with high-quality smoothing to avoid jagged edges and moiré. Keep JPG quality at 85–95%, or use PNG for lossless output. Enlarging beyond the original size can’t add real detail.
What happens when the preset has a different shape than my photo?
Choose Fit to keep the whole photo with a background around it, Fill to fill the frame and crop the edges, or Stretch to force the exact size. With JPG the background is white; choose PNG or WebP to keep it transparent.
What size is an Instagram post, story or YouTube thumbnail?
Instagram posts are 1080 × 1080 (square) or 1080 × 1350 (portrait), stories and reels are 1080 × 1920, and YouTube thumbnails are 1280 × 720. All of these are one-click presets in the editor.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Drop several images, choose the size and click the ZIP button. With a preset every image gets the same frame; with a typed width each image keeps its own proportions at that width.
Will my PNG keep its transparent background?
Yes. The resizer keeps the original format by default, so PNGs stay PNG with their transparency. If you switch to JPG, transparent areas become white instead of black.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser — your photos never leave your device. No signup, no watermark.
