Frequently asked questions

What size should an OG image be?

1200 × 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) is the standard Open Graph size and works on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp and X. This tool also exports 1200 × 600 for X cards and 1200 × 1200 squares.

What is an Open Graph image?

It’s the preview picture that appears when someone shares your link on social media or in a chat app. You set it with the og:image meta tag in your page’s <head>.

How do I add the image to my website?

Download the PNG, upload it to your site, then paste the meta tags from the Meta tags section into your page’s <head>, replacing the image URL with the address of your uploaded file. Always use a full https:// URL.

Can I make OG images for many blog posts at once?

Yes. Open Batch, paste one title per line (add “ | subtitle” for a second line), and download every image in one ZIP, each named after its title.

Why is my long headline smaller?

Auto-fit shrinks the headline so it always fits inside the image and never gets cut off. Turn it off under Style if you’d rather set the size yourself.

Which part of the image is safe from cropping?

Turn on Safe zone: the dashed lines show the centre square some apps crop to, and the margin to keep text away from the edges.

Does it work for X (Twitter) cards?

Yes. Use the X card size (1200 × 600) or the standard 1200 × 630, and set twitter:card to summary_large_image — the generated meta tags include it.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Images are drawn in your browser; your text, logo and photos never leave your device. There’s no watermark and no signup.
